You can hear on the ten songs (and the bonus track) of Current Swell's fourth album "Long Time Ago" that the Canadian foursome took four years with it on the one hand, but on the other hand it was almost always "on the road": USA, Australia and above all Brazil were on the travel list. The compact sound of the quartet sounds correspondingly casual, focused and well balanced. When listening, one often has the feeling that one is in a convertible car with an open top, opaque sunglasses on one's nose, one's arm hanging casually over the driver's door, relaxing gliding through the desert on a country road. Wilco, Mumford & Sons or even Green On Red wave at every corner and end, but also the Neil Young of the early 1970s makes a rendezvous. And of course you think of the Eagles or Crosby, Stills & Nash. Saucool is the musical happening through the bank, even if it happens quite deliberately every now and then. Summer sound par excellence, full to bursting with lots of grins on your lips, with campfire melancholy and nomadic romance. Pleased to meet you!
