EMANUEL AND THE FEAR - Hands (EP)

Kategorie: CD-Reviews | Genre: Alternative/Indie | Heft: Jahrgang 2012, eclipsed Nr. 138 / 3-2012 | VÖ-Jahr: 2012 | Wertung: 7/10 | Label: Haldern Pop | Autor: CA

The elfer led by Emanuel Ayas is told that the musicians involved are otherwise employed by acts such as Sufjan Stevens, The National, Akron/Family, Ryan Star and From Autumn To Ashes. Thus "Hands" is also a conglomeration of the most diverse influences, which is certainly also due to the rich instrumentation that was used here. "Over And Over" is a large-scale folk trip with arcade fire option, "Yuppies" a sloppy glam rocker with jazz appeal and "Sing For The Rain" a snotty ballad with an enchanting finale.
