Faust - next to Amon Düül II and CAN the most legendary Krautband - returns with "Just Us" or "j US t" as it says on the cover. What is exciting is that Werner "Zappi" Diermaier and Jean-Herve Peron, the two original members of the Hamburg band, see "Just Us" as a model for further use, although they certainly don't just provide a rhythmic carpet with it. Like the opener "Gerubelt", its noise guitars make it look richly decorated and complete. In contrast to the last work "Something Dirty" (2011) the new pieces are already spartan. But it is precisely this rawness that reveals a special charm. And so it wouldn't be necessary to find someone who would develop the whole thing further. On the other hand, this often only vaguely formulated music requires increased attention. However, even at the beginning of the seventies, Faust could never be consumed without effort. And in the past as well as today they cannot avoid producing beautiful music. The last track of the album, "I'm still sitting", looks like the basic structure of a Doors song. Here it shows again, from which time Faust come, as a band or psychedelic idea.
