Sequels have been determining the rock scene more and more in recent years, just like Hollywood cinema. See "Thick As A Brick 2", "Welcome 2 My Nightmare", "Operation: Mindcrime 2", "Testimony 2" or the "Bat Out Of Hell" song cycle now in its third round. Twenty-five years ago the Münster-based Mad Max were on the brink of an international breakthrough with "A Night Of Passion", but all kinds of business pitch denied them this step from the much-noticed German band to an international act. In the meantime they have made up for some of these steps, for example the opener "Rocklahoma" (this is probably the name of the most important festival for melodic hard rock in the USA at the moment). "Another Night Of Passion" was recorded by the former four-man gang, and even when it comes to new songs, the spirit is the same. Always melodious and with elaborate choruses, but otherwise hard rock without frills. However, it is difficult to predict whether this sequel will pass the test of time as well as the 1987 original.
