They are very close, but unfortunately here and there they lack a little bit of liveliness or originality. The Danish-Swedish quartet does not miss any of the twelve songs of "This Is Who We Are". All the embarrassment traps have loosely circumnavigated them. But they move in a genre that has been shaped by such greats as Led Zeppelin and The Black Crowes and in which newer heroes like Black Stone Cherry have been poaching successfully for some time. The yardstick is sometimes a few centimeters higher. What distinguishes Riot Horse is an almost continuous heaviness that never seems obtrusive or inappropriate. The fact that they often use Led Zeppelin as their inspiration, without actually copying it, makes tracks like "Bring 'em On" real Bringers. The appropriate shot of Southernrock influence ("Miss Mississippi") gives them the freedom to play with these sound ingredients. Unfortunately it doesn't groove on all tracks as it does on the slightly funky "Didn't See It Coming". Nevertheless, Riot Horse are a band that should be kept on the radar.
