Crippled Black Phoenix have just honoured us with another more than convincing album, the next project by bandleader and multi-instrumentalist Justin Greaves is coming soon. He calls Se Delan his cooperation with singer Belinda Kordic, who is otherwise known as Killing Mood. And although traces of the main band can be found in the album titled "The Fall", it has become much quieter, more melancholic and more reserved. The atmosphere they create with their goose-bump songs reminds one a little of their label colleagues from The Pinneapple Thief: mostly relaxed, quiet songs, but produced to the point that the occasional acoustic outbursts are all the more moving. Of course Se Delan doesn't give up the occasional progressive moments, but on the whole the album lives on its beauty, which is not least a product of the filigree playing of Greaves and the ethereal singing of Belinda Kordic, who is also responsible for the lyrics.
