Javier Vargas and his heavy blues band, among them Carmine Appice on drums, serve fans of harder blues rock, who also like Cactus or ZZ Top, with their new album. The CD, published in a six-page Digipak, is also in the band's own tradition and that's a good thing. A core shuffle with surfing influences ("Anaconda Style"), groovy party blues rock ("Shake Baby Shake"), slow melodic blues ("Searching For Love") and heavy blues with riffs reminiscent of Led Zeppelin stand for uncompromising sounds and recordings. Over the entire playing length, however, the work appears a little too uniform with regard to its sound.
