Conversations with Thomas Thielen, who, as a musician, simply wants to be titled as t, are like his recordings: intense and demanding. And yet the full-time grammar school teacher, who lives outside Hanover, is relaxed and happy to provide information when it comes to telling stories about the various forms of narrative. The fact that what he says is not immediately accessible to everyone seems to be part of the concept.
eclipsed: "Solipsystemology is the last part of your trilogy. What's it about this time?
"Epistrophobia" is the sequel to "Fragmentropy", which multi-instrumentalist Thomas Thielen released two years ago. Although the content of the story is told further, according to the musician, this time the lyrics are less narrative and circle the characters in a more abstract way. The musical implementation, however, is more tangible than ever...
Thomas Thielen alias t is known for sounding out in his CD productions what is possible in the prog area. Two years ago, for example, the album "Psychoanorexia", which described a couple relationship marked by mental anorexia, showed traces of Pink Floyd and Riverside as well as traces of Sigur Rós and Muse. Even with "Fragmentropy" Thielen does not allow himself to be guided by common ideas as to which elements an album should contain in order to pass through as a prog work.
