T - Narro ergo sum

Conversations with Thomas Thielen, who, as a musician, simply wants to be titled as t, are like his recordings: intense and demanding. And yet the full-time grammar school teacher, who lives outside Hanover, is relaxed and happy to provide information when it comes to telling stories about the various forms of narrative. The fact that what he says is not immediately accessible to everyone seems to be part of the concept.

eclipsed: "Solipsystemology is the last part of your trilogy. What's it about this time?

t: "Fragmentropy" tells the story of a couple who are tinkering with a relationship in which each person thinks their way around the other until they fit into their own lives without any effort. Which won't work. "Epistrophobia" asks the question: How does it actually work that you tell yourself life? What does this do to life if it is reduced to such an - unreal - narrative? "Solipsystemology" now takes a closer look at what actually happens to that narrator when he realizes that he has only told himself and that in this knowledge he divides himself into different egos.

eclipsed: You call that the Blair Witch effect.

t: By this I meant the blurring, because only in it can this discrepancy between the self-counting and the feedback of the real be maintained. Only if I constantly flee into a life of "as if" and refuse the reality check can I tell myself what I want. That's how the post facto works. In my opinion, this is a highly topical topic, especially in times of rage and trumps.

eclipsed: How does the lyrical concept combine with the tonal concept on this album in particular?

t: The music expresses a feeling. If it is subjectively good for the respective listener, he can stop there and simply enjoy. But you can also go further and look at the tension between text and music - some things are sarcastic, some things reinforce each other, others show the inner conflict. But it goes even further: The samples comment on the lyrics and the music. The spaces in which I have placed the music in terms of sound technology oscillate with the content. Sometimes they fold up abruptly when the ego realizes it's in a dead end. The layout of the artwork also reflects this. If you want, you have tons of puzzle pieces to assemble.
