Already on "Band Of Brothers" Hellyeah did a stylistically somewhat reduced track. Drummer Vinnie Paul (ex-Pantera, ex-Damageplan), singer Chad Gray (Mudvayne), guitarist Tom Maxwell (Nothingface) and new bassist Kyle Sanders (Bloodsimple) continue this course with all their might after the departure of Greg Tribbett and Bob Zilla. Of course you are more predictable on the way with it. But in recent years a certain seriousness has found its way into Hellyeah, which is why a few more party-suited Southern and Classic Rock elements had to go overboard. Instead, "Black December" combines the atmosphere of "Cemetery Gates" with the dark melody of Type O Negative, smashers like "Demons In The Dirt" or the very successful opener "Sangre Por Sangre (Blood For Blood)" remind more than ever of the legend Pantera, while "Hush" and "Moth" show an unusual catchiness. The Ballerbude "Say When" on the other hand is a song without sense, understanding and compositional finesse.
