The English Progger Landmarq celebrate their 25th anniversary in 2015. This year, however, a best-of album is already being released. The first CD contains songs sung by their current singer Tracy Hitchings. Tracy has been part of the band since 1998. Her predecessor was Damian Wilson (1991-1995) and this is honored on the second CD. Here you can wonderfully trace the change that the band has made with the change of the front person. While the Damian years were characterized by a more powerful sound, Tracy Hitchhing's melody was more melodic and the former playfulness in Landmarq's music lost more and more of its ground. The best examples of this change are the "Ta Jiang" sung by Damian, which is rather overflowing, and the almost pop-oriented "Heritage" sung by Tracy. If you listen to the two tracks, you think you hear two completely different bands. With the title track "Origins" Landmarq also have a new song at the start, which offers an eleven-minute varied journey, on which Tracy Hitching's voice enchants us.
