"Music of the Night" is the third Denovali release of the French chamber orchestra Les Fragments De La Nuit around the composers Ombelince Chardes (violin) and Michel Villar (piano). Once founded as a recording project for film music, the two musicians bring three additional violins, a cellist and female vocals to the stage for their performances, with the aim of breaking conventions within classical music. The band's name already contains the essential information for curious people who want to listen to neoclassical music after excursions in Ambient and Postrock. Their "Little Night Music" is not an opulent orchestral and overstraining epic in five acts, but merely offers "instrumental fragments". The music lives from the typical melancholic tenor of the French. It is characterized by romantic piano interludes, dramatic string arrangements and eerie violin themes in two-minute pieces. Anyone who is at home in metal or prog knows anyway that classical music has not only been sympathizing with the genres since yesterday.
