WE LOST THE SEA - The Quietest Place On Earth

The Australian label Bird's Robe has taken on the music of We Lost The Sea. But be careful, the title "The Quietest Place On Earth" promises something that it can only partially keep. Because growls, the bad ones mind you, have become socially acceptable at the latest since Isis or The Ocean. But also at We Lost The Sea they bring a not unpleasant fresh wind into their sound. But this one is a bit too homey for metal, but too uncompromising for rock. Events are already happening on "A Quiet Place". Slowly, the eight-minute piece reaches its climax via piano and a lot of atmosphere, revealing that the septet understands its craft very well. Especially the 16-minute "With Grace" is pure suspense, the increase leads to the inevitable excess. Quite different is "Forgotten People", which comes up with Heavenly Female Voices and postrock walls of sounds. It's a great work of art that can ruin you: We-Lost-The.Sea singer Chris Torpy took his own life in early 2013.
