Bon Scott is certainly one of the most individual and style-defining rock singers of the 20th century - even though his time with AC/DC only lasted a little more than half a decade. However, the hard rock shouter had already left his musical mark before joining the now legendary Australian outfit: After the breakup of The Valentines, he became the lead singer of the band Fraternity in 1971. The box set "Seasons Of Change - The Complete Recordings 1970-1974" now makes all their material available on three CDs for the first time.
The "difficult" 15th studio album (or 16th if you look at the Australian releases): Malcolm Young had to say goodbye to being an active musician because of his dementia; his nephew Stevie, who already helped out live, replaced him. In addition the drug "problem bear" Phil Rudd arrived ten days too late in the studio in Canada to drum up his parts...
SUPERTRAMP - 40 years "Crime Of The Century"
Actually they were already dead. Even dead as a doornail. After two albums that sold as well as soap-flavoured chocolate and, according to guitarist/singer Roger Hodgson, didn't sound much better, the chapter Supertramp seemed to be over in 1971 - because everything really went wrong. The band, which at that time consisted of Kevin Currie, Frank Farrell, Dave Winthrop, Rick Davies and Hodgson, fell apart after a disastrous Scandinavian tour.
AC/DC - Temporary power outage
AC/DC the members go out: The rhythm guitarist suffers from dementia, the drummer has been arrested by the New Zealand police - the Australian megastars have certainly imagined their fortieth anniversary of service differently. But despite the adverse circumstances: Mastermind Angus Young does not think of an end to the hard rock institution. AC/DC will go on a world tour in 2015 with their new album "Rock Or Bust".
Crime scene Düsseldorf: Angus Young resides in a suite of the luxurious Breidenbacher Hof, which seems almost oversized for its physical dimensions. The 59-year-old Australian with Scottish roots, a second home in the Dutch town of Aalten and a terrible down-under accent is known to be a small, slender man who is now almost bald and has an extremely unhealthy greyish pale complexion.
BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN
Light into the dark on the outskirts of the city
A new documentary highlights the genesis of "Darkness On The Edge Of Town". Bruce Springsteen and Jon Landau independently remember a story that never let go of the boss.
The eclipsed annual review 2010
What was true for the last twelve months in the first decade of the 21st century is also true for the first year in the new decade: Rock with its many facets cannot be reduced - many old fighters are still there, but nobody has to worry about young talent either.
