ROGER WATERS - "The Wall" and its creator 2.0
It was the absolute sensory overload. Nobody who attended one of the 219 shows could record everything that happened on stage. A sea of symbolic images, a flood of messages. A Roger Waters completely changed compared to 1980. Everything documented in impressive scenes in the new film "Roger Waters The Wall". eclipsed talked to the Pink Floyd founder about the change of "The Wall" and himself.
THE BEATLES - As the tones learned to walk
At the time of the interview, Anna von Hausswolff is in Berlin. "This is the first time I've done such an interview marathon," reveals the 29-year-old singer and organist. Nevertheless there are no signs of exhaustion in the Swedish girl, instead she chats away from her liver about her wonderful third album. On "The Miraculous" she presents the church organ in a completely new context, approaching bands like Godspeed You! Black Emperor - a fascinating listening experience.
eclipsed: The lyrics of your last album "Ceremony" were often dark and morbid, and "The Miraculous" seems even darker. Are you melancholic by nature? Or is music a vehicle for you to bring hidden facets of your personality to light?
Anna von Hausswolff: I am actually a very cheerful person and like to laugh. But making music helps me to bring out certain aspects of my personality that I can't show otherwise.
AVATARIUM - Girl With The Raven Mask (4:10)
Album: The Girl With The Raven Mask (2015)
Label/Distribution: Nuclear Blast/Warner
With AVATARIUM, Doom legend Leif Edling (Candlemass, Krux) has built up a fantastic new band where tough lava riffs meet seventies Hammond sounds. But above all, the incredible Jennie-Ann Smith is enthroned, whose gripping blues voice (Janis Joplin sends her regards!) gives you goose bumps. (Review: eclipsed 10/2015)
This is an escapism plate. A record that denies the existence of an outside world. That throws the receiver back on itself. Whose extra-musical needs he looks down upon. This is L'art pour l'art, art for art's sake. This is a record by Anna von Hausswolff. Anna von Hausswolff!
