A soft organ sound, a tender voice begins to sing timidly, a hypnotic drum beat begins. The second album of the British quartet Baron begins in a minimalist, yet powerful and evocative way. And it has become, so much has already been said, a magical album. The group is increasingly focusing on creating an eerie-melancholic atmosphere. And even if the basic tenor of the eight songs is rather calm, one is not immune to sudden sound eruptions or even to sinking into psychedelic landscapes.
