SUBSIGNAL - A Time Out Of Joint (6:36)
Album: The Beacons Of Somewhere Sometime (2015)
Label/Distribution: Golden Core/ZYX

Emerging from Sieges Even in 2007, SUBSIGNAL takes several rungs of the success ladder with each album. With the fourth work, the band presents itself as a master of contrasts. Elegant classical passages collide congenially with massive metal riffing and exquisite melodic prog meets spherical folk. (Review: eclipsed 11/2015)
Like the opener is a longtrack that builds up nicely slowly. The cutting floy guitar mills its way into the brain. Voice and melody are a strange mixture between Styx and (the first good records of) Chris de Burgh. Again and again the balance between harmony singing and more explosive instrumental passages is maintained. The Canadian Melodic Progger Mystery come to us with very beautifully designed songs and with their new singer Jean Pageau, as Tommy Shaw and Dennis DeYoung of Styx sound in one.
