He has a divine voice and is a shining example for generations of musicians. Still, Van the Man doesn't seem happy. He struggles with the music industry, modern technology, the media, the zeitgeist. That's why Nordire hardly gives interviews, that's why he has a reputation as an incorrigible grantler. eclipsed gives the musician in Belfast one of his rare interviews, which isn't always easy - least of all for him.

LED ZEPPELIN - The Last Remaster?

With "The Complete BBC Sessions" the 72-year-old Englishman once again enters the Remasters-Ring and adds eight songs to the live recordings from the late 60s and early 70s as well as a lot of discussion needs. We report what awaits the fan and discuss with Jimmy Page the new extended and revised re-release - possibly the last remaster.
THE BEATLES - Always on the move
It's been over 30 years since the little, corpulent man spoke to a German magazine. Not because he has something against the country where he earned his first musical spurs in the early 60s (with the Monarchs), but simply because he doesn't like interviews. Not at all. Getting him in front of the microphone is a real game of patience - with dubious managers who have a kind of exploratory talk on the phone, a catalogue of questions to be submitted, several appointments scheduled at short notice as well as cancelled, long phases of icy silence and then - all of a sudden - an appointment on Monday, 29 August, Culloden Hotel, Belfast. In the five-star golf resort with a panoramic view of the bay of the Northern Irish capital, Van Morrison appears regularly in the ballroom. In front of 350 hardcore fans who are spending a fortune experiencing the "local hero" (taxi driver) in an intimate setting.

And Mark Knopfler will also do a devil thing to change this ideal state for him after his now released eighth recording. A world tour with the Dire Straits? "Much too stressful!"
30 Years GUNS N' ROSES - Greatness and Madness
When Van Morrison asks fellow musicians to join him in the studio, it is usually a matter of course for them to follow this call. The great Northern Irish bluesman's coat itched again. He has been searching through his song catalogue and re-recording 16 of his old numbers - together with renowned artists such as Mark Knopfler, Taj Mahal and Steve Winwood. We met Van Morrison on the sidelines of an appearance in Glasgow to talk to him about his recent collaborations.

But before this happened, the US American Jimi Hendrix had to take the road via England to be recognised as a star in his home country. We remember important stages in the short life of the immortal rock guitarist, who would have turned 70 on 27 November.
