Seattle is known for raw and aggressive sounds. More than any other genre, the Northwest metropolis is associated with grunge. And yet folk also has a firm place in Seattle. Back in the late 1980s, the Walkabouts established their first psychedelic folk efforts on Sub Pop, the label of Mudhoney, Nirvana and Soundgarden. So it wasn't at all far-fetched that exactly three decades later, the Fleet Foxes also set off into the wondering world, at least in the US via Sub Pop.

"We Will Ride" is the fourth album of the band around ex-Trans Siberian Orchestra/Uli Jon Roth vocalist Nathan James. Already after the Inglorious debut in 2016, fans of British hard rock got shiny eyes and big ears. The two albums that followed, "II" (2017) and "Ride To Nowhere" (2019), cemented the formation's stellar reputation. Then, shortly after the release of the third album, there were sweeping line-up changes. Only James and drummer Phil Beaver remained in the line-up. Lead guitarist Danny Dela Cruz, guitarist Dan Stevens and bassman Vinnie Colla were new additions.

With an inherited billion-dollar fortune up his sleeve, Australian businessman David Lowy (who runs shopping centres in the UK, the US and his homeland, among other places) remembered his old love, hard rock, in 2012. In his younger days, the rhythm guitarist had already made it into English clubs with his band Mink, but The Dead Daisies were then to attack a few levels higher for the then fiftysomething.
