MY DYNAMITE "Otherside"

15. Februar 2017

My Dynamite

Australia is considered a retro rock paradise, even at a time when this genre was not yet booming. Therefore a band like My Dynamite could quickly be dismissed as the normal case of an Australian rock formation, if the band, which now delivers their second album, would do very wrong, especially because they poach uninhibitedly and damn well in areas which have their origin in the US-American southern states.

My Dynamite

ORANGO "The Mules Of Nana"

Orango

Just in the month in which we are going through the back catalogue of Golden Earring in our category "shopping list", the new album of the Norwegian trio Orango flutters into our house. Have we forgotten about an Earring album in which they remember their psychedelic folk rock at the end of the sixties?

Orango

OTIS TAYLOR "Fantasizing About Being Black"

15. Februar 2017

Otis Taylor

Otis Taylor sets new standards with his current album. In terms of intensity and expression, hardly any contemporary musician can hold a candle to him. His haunting, captivating voice captivates the listener to such an extent that he can no longer tear himself away from the music and feels drawn into a real flow.

Otis Taylor

PAIN OF SALVATION "In The Passing Light Of Day"

9. Februar 2017

Pain Of Salvation

Great art often emerges from confrontation with extreme situations. At Pain Of Salvation mastermind Daniel Gildenlöw it was a life-threatening streptococcal infection at the beginning of 2014, the consequences of which the 43-year-old Swede had to heal in hospital for months... and it's not surprising that "In The Passing Light Of Day" now also bears witness to anger, despair, resignation and hope. It is without a doubt Gildenlöw's most personal album.

Pain Of Salvation

REBEKKA KARIJORD "Mother Tongue"

Rebekka Karijord

In the year before last Julia Holter landed with her album "Have You In My Wilderness" in several annual polls on the first place. Her ethereal, highly complex artpop had apparently hit a nerve. The Norwegian Rebekka Karijord strikes a similar notch, but her compositions on "Mother Tongue" are at least lyrically less abstract than those of her soulmate US colleague.

Rebekka Karijord
